Location

Cape Willoughby Lighthouse was South Australia’s first ever lighthouse, built to prevent shipwrecks however it did not prevent many. A visit to Kangaroo Island isn’t complete with a tour or even just a visit to this iconic lighthouse. You can take a guided tour of the lighthouse to learn all about its history and to get amazing views of the surrounding area.

From the top of the lighthouse people occasionally see schools of large salmon, dolphins as well as humpback, southern right and killer whales. If you choose to take part in one the tours, you can learn about the sailing and wreck history of the area and get an up close look of the old lighthouse technology that was used. Previous visitors have raved about the fantastic views and knowledgeable guides.
