What you need to know
Location

Our 2 hour Wine Experience includes a History Tour, our Art Trail, Vineyard Walk, the Basics of Wine Tasting and a sample of 6 of our Red and White wines. On completion enjoy your favourite glass of wine and a cheese platter.

The 1837 Barossa winery holds a rich historical presence. It commemorates the date on which Colonel William Light, founder of Adelaide and first Surveyor-General of South Australia named the Barossa in December 1837. The Barossa Colonel Light Monument, a life-size bronze monument of Colonel Light on horseback and the iconic Barossa Manor honour the birthplace of Barossa on the estate. A tribute to which 1837 wine makers dedicate their wines year after year.

Upon arrival at 1837 Barossa estate, we will guide you to the Col. Light Monument and you can enjoy the full 360-degree views from the historic point. You will be able to walk the art trail which allows you to take pictures of the many colourful sculptures which includes the "Wings of Barossa" where you can pose as an angel between two giant wings that overlook the vineyards.

At 1837 Barossa Pavilion, you will be welcomed with a glass of our reserve sparkling wine. A movie about the naming of the Barossa and the history of Colonel William Light will be followed by guided vineyard walk where you learn all about grape growing and its terroir. If seasons permit, you will be able to sample some grapes. Back in the exclusive Pavilion you will receive an introduction in winemaking and you will learn how to taste wine like a professional. The wine experience will then be crowned by a tasting of 8 wines, which will include the reserve range.

On completion, you can choose your favourite wine and a cheese platter to relax and enjoy the view of the vineyard.

On the way out, you will have a chance to take some final pictures from the supersized baroque picture frame allowing you to pose with fantastic views of the Barossa Valley and Range in the background or you can take a picture of yourself in front of the iconic 12m long colourful BAROSSA sign; a beautiful memory of the Barossa to share with family and friends.

Learn from our expert and after this experience, you can tell who is telling you the truth about wines. Join us for this "Barossa Experience". You will NOT be disappointed.
