The Cairns Aquarium is one of Australia’s most exciting new world-class tourist attractions. Visit the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, a not-for-profit, volunteer-run, charitable entity caring for rescued sea turtles. Meet at 11.15 am, where you will be taken on an exclusive tour of the onsite Turtle Hospital to meet the sea turtles in our care. Enjoy an optional lunch at Dundees restaurant with an aquarium backdrop. Complete your day with an afternoon of exploration with a Cairns City Sights & Surrounds Tour. Hotel drop off included.
Make your own way to the Cairns Aquarium which is home to more than 15,000 specimens and 10 ecosystems. It is the only aquarium in the world to exclusively showcase the stunning aquatic wildlife from tropical North Queensland’s two World Heritage-listed areas – the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest. At the Cairns Aquarium, you will learn how a drop of rain descends from the Cairns Mountain Ranges into streams and rivers, through the rainforest, across the mangroves, along the shallow lagoons of the Great Barrier Reef, and finally, into the depths of the Coral Sea.
Cairns Aquarium opens at 10.00am
At 12.45pm you will be collected by Cairns Discovery Tours guide to continue your afternoon exploring Cairns city sights and the surrounding region. Visit Cairns Museum, St Monica’s Cathedral, Cairns Botanic Gardens, Cairns scenic lookout, Lower Barron Gorge National Park with Surprise Creek Falls, and beautiful Palm Cove.
