Otao kitchen was launched in Richmond, Melbourne, Australia in July 2014, with the goal of celebrating the rich and varied cooking experiences of Melbourne’s immigrant multicultural communities. Its founder, Chef Ha Nguyen, originally from Hanoi shares his passion for food, instructing customers in the exotic diaspora of Asian and around the world cuisine.
Today, guests can get inspired by cooking with local and international chefs, listen to their cooking and travel experiences in Asia and around the world and bring some cooking and cultural tips and tricks home. With the nods at the diversity of communities within Melbourne, Otao kitchen features an array of food experiences.

Have you enjoyed a meal at a Thai restaurant and wish you could replicate it at home? Now you have the chance to do so by learning from a friendly and experienced chef!
Discover Thai ingredients and how to develop their flavours in this hands-on and fun cooking experience. Besides learning cooking tips and tricks from our expert chefs, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal at the end, tastefully paired with one of our local wines or drink of your choice
Vietnamese Cooking 3 hour Masterclass
Dumpling Making Party 2 hour Masterclass
Immerse yourself into the Chinese food culture with this dumpling class where you’ll learn how to make your own dumpling dough from scratch, a tasty filling with your choice of protein: beef, pork, chicken or tofu, and a selection of decorative folds
