Over 7000 convict women spent their time at the Cascades Female Factory. Learn about convict life at the Cascades Female Factory as told by expert tour guides. The Convict Women's Tour runs for about 45 minutes. It will provide insights into the history of the Female Factory, the convict system of punishment and reform, and offer a glimpse of what convict life was like for the thousands of women transported to Van Diemen’s Land.

Time

The Cascades Female Factory open daily from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm
The Convict Women's Tour operates daily at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm
You must contact the operator following purchase to book in your date and time

Additional Information

Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before tour starting time to redeem your tickets and use the facilities
The Convict Women's Tour takes place outdoors and in all weather conditions. Please be prepared for cold, wet, hot or sunny weather and wear comfortable walking shoes for gravel surfaces
All tickets include an audio guide experience. Please be sure to charge your mobile phone and bring your headphones
Family ticket is valid for 2 Adults and up to 6 Children (age 7-18)
Concession tickets: Holder of a valid Australian senior, health or pension card (Proof must be provided on arrival)
Disability parking available at Syme Street entrance. The History and Interpretation Centre, exhibition and Yard 3 are fully accessible for people with mobility aids and prams
