“ My partner and I just loved Keppel Island. Is worth every penny spent on this experience. The island itself is big, so, if you are looking forward to hiking, be sure to take bottle of water with you because they don't have spots with fresh water besides the restaurant area which is close to the landing area. The food included on the experience could be 4 or 5 types of hamburger, fish n chips (delicious). Well, we loved it.
Third trip to Great Keppel Island. If you have never been before I recommend a day trip here. The bar and food area cater for most people. We did the glass bottom tour this time that was ok. Shame there was people leaving rubbish everywhere, some areas near food area looking a little run down

3 years agoOur second visit here and a bit disappointed we could not get the glass bottom boat but a lovely visit all the same. We had the wagyu beef burger which came with the deal and was amazing, you could choose fish and chips amongst other things on the menu, not just the burgers.
4 years agoA really great day out. The island is so beautiful, even more so than we imagined, we will definitely be going back! There are a lot of different beaches there. You have to walk through some walking tracks to get to them but it’s worth it! The lunch was also good, you can pick anything from their lunch menu and it’s based right on the beach so a good spot!
5 years agoWe booked the day before and were able to confirm in minutes with the company providing the trip. The island was beautiful and we enjoyed the bush trails as well as the beaches. Booking through Experience Oz meant we saved a little overbooking the transfer and lunch ourselves, so found it a very good value. The beaches and water quality were far superior to those on the mainland, so definitely worth the journey.
5 years agoExcellent day out. Extra cost for snorkelling equipment. Great burger and fantastic cold beer. Well worth the journey and we will be returning later this year. The track to the snorkelling beach is a bit tricky but manageable. Take water with you.
5 years agoA thoroughly enjoyable day! The boat departed Keppel Bay Marina at 9.30 with a 30-40 min ferry ride across to the island. Beautiful beach, soft sand, clear waters and super relaxing. We spent most of the day drinking cocktails and enjoying the view. You are free to choose anything from the lunch menu - we had the Spanish Mackerel burger which was fresh and tasty, washed down with a class of Moscato. There is tourist information in the gift shop. The lady was very friendly and helpful to point me in the right direction to the start of a short bush walk, 1-hour return, to the 1st lookout with beautiful views of the west of the island. The walk from the hideaway is easy as it is flat to get to the beginning of the climb and then approx. 10 min walk up a moderately steep track to the 1st lookout. The track is the only bitumen road on the island and so there is no having to navigate through the bush. Do pack your trainers if planning on doing any of the bush walks though as some of the bitumen is coming away so at times it is uneven and sandy. Overall I thoroughly recommend this day out on Great Keppel Island. It is fantastic value for money. A ferry transfer would be $45 return alone so to get lunch and a glass of wine for $20 is a great value. The return ferry leaves at 4 pm, returning to Yeppoon at approx 4.40 - just in time to watch the sunset over Keppel Bay Marina.
5 years agoSpent a whole day swimming on the island. The burgers that came with the tour were very tasty. The trip from Yeppoon is only a short 30 minutes to the island. Enjoy the crystal clear water and super fine sand! It's a pretty long day so bring water and sunscreen.
5 years agoThis package is good value, return ferry, choice of burger (worth $20), a beer and snorkelling gear for the day! The ferry is not the newest but was fine for getting there despite a very choppy sea. Some of the tracks for getting to the beaches were rough so pack your trainers. Snorkelling at Monkey Beach was good and we saw lots of fish. We also went to Shelving beach as we heard that there were turtles there, however, we didn't get to see any. The burger was tasty and the staff at the bar were really friendly.
